We are not currently advertising any W-2 employment positions. We do, however, welcome expressions of interest from qualified investigators who would like to be considered for future independent-contractor assignments.
Future Case-by-Case Assignments
Independent Contractor Opportunities
Cochran & Co. may use qualified independent investigators on a case-by-case basis when assignment needs, geography, availability, specialized experience, or other operational considerations make outside investigative support appropriate.
Approved contractors may be considered for assignments such as surveillance and field investigation, person locates and field verification, interviews and witness contacts, investigative or background research, records and courthouse research, scene or site checks, and other lawful investigative services.
No assignments, minimum hours, recurring work, or volume of work are guaranteed.
A contractor remains free to accept or decline individual opportunities. If an assignment is offered and accepted, the specific scope, schedule, compensation, documentation requirements, and other terms are provided separately in writing.
Professional Interest
Who We’re Interested in Hearing From
- Currently licensed private investigators are encouraged to express interest.
- Investigators licensed in jurisdictions outside Kentucky may also express interest where their geographic coverage or experience may be useful.
- Someone who is not presently licensed in Kentucky may express interest, but they cannot perform regulated investigative work for Cochran & Co. unless and until they possess the licensing or other lawful authority required for the jurisdiction and assignment.
- Relevant investigative experience, geographic coverage, professional judgment, reliability, documentation ability, availability, and assignment-specific capabilities may be considered.
- Cochran & Co. evaluates prospective contractors individually.

Future Consideration
Cochran & Co. will review submitted information and may contact applicants whose qualifications, service area, experience, or capabilities may fit current or future needs.
Applicants selected for further consideration may be asked to complete additional qualification, credentialing, licensing, reference, insurance, confidentiality, conflict, tax, and contractor-agreement requirements before being approved for assignments.
Submitting an interest application does not guarantee acceptance into the contractor pool or an assignment.
